“A NEW PLACE FOR A SAFE PLACE”

Our new Mental Health Community Center will allow us to double our capacity to serve the community in response to an unprecedented rise in demand, particularly for our mental health services. This new site will also allow us to expand Community Mental Health services to support families facing violence in their homes.
The Need:
We have outgrown our existing building. A Safe Place was founded as a helpline and an agency to offer shelter to victims and survivors of domestic violence. However, over forty years our services and programs have grown, and in particular the range of mental health services we can offer to survivors and their traumatized families. It became clear to the Executive Director and the Board that in order to offer the level of service required by the community, it was necessary to find a new home.
The Solution:
The great news is that we are in search of a new location that will give us enough space and better facilities to serve our community and to continue our work. We will keep our friends and supporters informed as this exciting new project develops.
The Appeal:
The new Community Mental Health Center will cost $2.2 million. Over 50% has already been committed or is pending. Can you help us bridge the gap of $1,000,000? Your support will allow A Safe Place to move into the new Community Health Center debt-free and focus 100% of our resources on community care.
Here are some ways you can support us in celebration of our 43rd anniversary:
• Donate $43, $430, or even $43,000 online for our new Community Mental Health Center
• Make a special donation of appreciated stock to support this one-time capital campaign.
• Introduce us to a community member who may be able to invest in this project.
If you are committed to ending violence at home, join us as a supporter!
